What is the function of the buffer block on the shock absorber of the car?

    The function of the shock absorber is as easy to understand as its name, that is, "shock absorption". Generally speaking, for a new car, the shock-absorbing rubber block plays a role in making driving more comfortable; when the shock-absorbing spring is used for a long time, it is often insensitive due to lack of elasticity, and it is easy to cause an accident. A shock absorber can replace the complexity and expensive price of modifying the shock spring. The shock absorbers of different structures have different effects on the buffer blocks. Let's take a look at the function of the buffer block on the shock absorber of the car.

    Buffer rubber is a kind of rubber product with high elasticity and high toughness, which belongs to automobile modification accessories. It is used to install at the coil spring of the automobile suspension system, mainly to buffer the shock absorber and protect the shock absorber.

Function introduction

    (1) Comprehensively improve driving stability, enhance driving comfort, and enjoy driving pleasure;

    (2) It can reduce the vibration of the body to a limited extent and absorb the noise of the suspension system;

    (3) Solve the problem of weak spring and increase the body by 0.2-0.3 cm, but it cannot effectively improve the bearing capacity;

    (4) Limited buffering and absorbing the instantaneous pressure caused by the rough road to avoid damage to the shock absorber system (Warning: Exceeding the limit will damage the shock absorber system).

    If the spring is already weak, the body will drop very low whenever it is compressed, then the spring can be supported and pressure relieved by installing the buffer rubber, which can be understood as raising the body height. Usually 0.2-0.3 cm or more, depending on spring spacing, spring slack, etc.

   However, if it is a new spring, under normal circumstances, it is not possible or necessary to increase the height of the vehicle body, unless the size of the installed buffer glue is larger than the spring spacing, and a certain section of the spring is forcibly pushed up by the buffer glue, which is incorrect. . Therefore, be sure to choose the type of buffer rubber that matches the spring spacing.

(1) Noise reduction

    First of all, it needs to be clear that the buffer rubber is not a muffler. It is not like the "80% noise reduction" and "40% noise reduction" promoted by some businesses. Those statements are obviously not scientific and incomplete. However, it needs to be recognized that buffer rubber does reduce noise to some extent (depending on the situation). For example, when some vehicles are loaded with heavy objects or travel on rough roads, the suspension system and surrounding positions often produce friction and collision sounds. After installing the buffer glue, this problem is solved, and some surrounding noises are relatively absorbed. Or to put it more simply, since the buffer rubber improves the stability and comfort during driving, some of the original related noises will naturally be slightly reduced.

(2) Increase the load

    In most cases, this is a big misunderstanding. We usually have the experience that when the car is loaded with heavier cargo, the body of the car is lowered very low (the spring is compressed), and we have to be careful even when passing the speed bump; when the buffer glue is installed, the buffer glue is in the spring. The middle part plays the role of support and relief. When loading the same weight of goods, the car body will not be pressed so low (the hard rubber block is blocked in the middle of the shock absorber spring, and the spring spacing is more obvious). In other words, when the buffer rubber is not A limited increase in load-carrying capacity is possible before damage.
